🌞 Stay Safe During the Hot Weather 🌞

With temperatures expected to remain high over the coming days, we’d like to remind everyone to take extra care and look out for one another.

Here are a few simple ways to stay safe:
💧 Drink plenty of water and avoid becoming dehydrated.
🧴 Wear sunscreen, a hat, and light, loose-fitting clothing if you’re spending time outdoors.
🌳 Stay in the shade where possible and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm).
🚗 Never leave children, vulnerable adults, or pets in a parked vehicle – even for a few minutes.
🐶 Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest.

🤝 Please check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours, friends, and family members. A quick phone call, knock on the door, or offering to pick up shopping can make a real difference and help ensure they are safe, hydrated, and coping with the heat.

If you see someone who appears to be in distress due to the heat, don’t ignore it. If it is an emergency, call 999 immediately.
